I grew up on a wheat and cattle ranch in North Central Oregon. Through various career and life choices I ended up in the Mid-West. It is always about the Supply Chain. Getting raw materials to the right place at the right time so you can make the right product and then delivering that product to the right place at the right time in the best possible condition. If I was studying Resource Economics at Oregon State, routing an LTL load in the Bay Area, producing a catalog at a printing company or even harvesting wheat. It has always been about getting the right raw materials to produce and deliver the best quality product. That is one of the reasons working at King is so fulfilling, you can help this sometimes complicated world of logistics easier for a customer.
I’ve worked in logistics since it feels like before the wheel was round and now in my 16th year at King. I love helping my customers find better ways to manage their supply chains. It could be as simple as giving them better visibility or as complex as building a whole program for new store openings. My specialties include retail projects, programs or rollouts as well as putting total logistics programs together that can include all modes of transportation. I went to St. Cloud State, and that’s not because they were the only school to accept me! I played on their rugby team and received my degree in physical education with a double minor in Coaching and Adapted Phy Ed, so naturally when I graduated I looked for a job in supply chain and logistics.
If someone were to ask me what are my career highlights so far, I’d say working for an awesome company for my entire professional career, and helping new retailers launch campaigns when they were just start ups. I grew up in the Twin Cities and never plan on leaving, although this last winter is making me waiver. I love to hunt, fish, watch football, fantasy football, travel, hope to start home brewing and put on a million miles per year going to my children’s activities. Serving the community is important to me as well, including supporting Homeward Bound, MOCA, Yellow Tree Theater and Rogers High School Theater Program. Some fun facts about me? I love to try new foods, I am claustrophobic and hate large objects….what is fun about that?
I joined King Solutions 10 years ago following an 8-year history in business management. The best part about my role in sales is interacting with King’s diverse account base, helping them solve their supply chain challenges. More specifically, I’ve developed a niche over the last 20 years working with the United States Postal Service. I grew up in Buffalo, MN and graduated from Moorhead State University with a degree in business administration. I’m active member of PIM (Printing Industry of MN) and CMA (Central MN Manufacturing Association) and support charity organizations including MOCA, Teen Challenge, Susan G Komen. During my personal time I enjoy golf, basketball, softball, politics, stock market analysis and working out.
I have been working at King Solutions since June of 2013. The best part of my career is interacting with customers on a daily basis, taking in as much information as possible to create the best possible solution for them. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Economics where I also served as a board member my fraternity: Phi Gamma Delta Mu Sigma Chapter. I grew up in many different places as a young child, but consider Blaine, Minnesota my hometown. I enjoy fantasy football, working out, and hanging out with my friends and family. A fun fact about me? I’m currently the campaign manager for Chris Stolarzyk for MN State Rep.
I have really enjoyed being on board at King Solutions for the past 11 years. I came to King with no formal sales success and very limited knowledge of the transportation industry; my previous transportation knowledge was only from a customer perspective. Only? ….That customer perspective proved vital to a fast path in creating successful sales. Coupled with King’s culture, ethics, and commitment to community King is an awesome organization for me to be a part of. Prior to coming to King, I enjoyed a very successful 30+ year career at one company. I was fortunate to progress through several roles in mail production, production management and warehouse management and eventually served as the General Manager. I learned so much along the way. I am very grateful for the growth opportunities I have had throughout my career. I enjoy working closely with customers, prospective customers and the King team to build strong partnerships that result in mutual success. Hobbies? I love to play basketball 2-3 times per week; on a good day no one gets hurt. I like to golf and play tennis and volleyball too but am not very good at any of them. I have a passion for making music as well and love to perform any time I get a chance. My favorite music tools are a 12 string and a microphone.
I grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota and then attended the University of Wisconsin – River Falls where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Management. The best part of my career at King Solutions is being able to collaborate with customers to find creative solutions to fit their transportation needs. When I’m not working on client solutions, I enjoy playing soccer, working out, cooking and spending time with family and friends. I love DIY television shows, blogs, and magazines although I don’t know how to safely use a power tool.
My professional life in logistics spans 23 years, and began at King 16 years ago. The best part of my job is providing creative solutions for my customer’s unique needs. I take a special interest in domestic logistics, retail projects and reverse logistics. I grew up in Mequon, WI and received my degree at the University of Minnesota. Over the years I’ve worked on several rollout projects outside the United States, including: Australia, Germany, Venezuela, and Canada. Fun facts about me: I’ve had two holes in one and I’m a first generation Finn – both of my parents are from Finland! I enjoy golf, fishing, camping, hunting and supporting a few charities of special interest to me: American Heart Association, Second Harvest Heartland, United Gospel Mission, MOCA.
I was born in Bloomington, MN many years ago. My logistics carrier started 30 plus years ago, as a part time dock worker for a national LTL carrier, working during my off hours from school. Shortly thereafter I started in a management trainee program with the same carrier. Wanting to climb the corporate ladder and live closer to the mountains we moved to Cheyenne, WY where my daughter was born 25 years ago. We moved several times in next few years working at various terminals in the region. Did make it to terminal manager in Casper, WY, this stint only lasted 6 months as I was activated for Desert Storm with the Marine reserves. Was fortunate as I was never deployed overseas while serving. Moved back to Minnesota in 1994 with another national LTL carrier working operations in various management positions. After a few years in operations I made the switch to Sales, King Solutions became one of my clients and I always thought King would be a great place to work as the culture here is second to none. Proud father of 3 kids in their 20’s, we enjoy most anything outdoors, bikes, fishing, hunting, skiing and working out. Recently joined the Osseo American Legion, hoping to give back and help some of the other vets. I try to donate blood on a regular basis.
