You may have noticed that the Star Tribune named King Solutions a Top Workplace in Minnesota. (It’s okay to get excited, we’re excited about it, too!)
But, we understand that you may be asking how we were awarded this honor, or what makes our company stand out from many other Minnesota-based businesses. So, we thought we’d take a few minutes and share what it’s really like to work at King Solutions, and why we think we made the list.
The ins-and-outs of the Top Workplaces process
More than 2,100 companies with Minnesota offices (that have more than 50 employees) were invited to participate in employee-response surveys that would determine winners purely on the basis of employee responses.
The survey information was collected by WorkplaceDynamics, which surveyed more than 69,100 employees from Minnesota organizations. The final list included the top 226 companies in Minnesota to work for.
What sets King Solutions apart?
Two key areas where King Solutions ranked highly for the survey results were for alignment, and pay and benefits.
Alignment is one area where we’re particularly proud that employees ranked high. The alignment aspect refers to employees feeling strongly that our company operates by strong values and ethics. Our values, such as integrity, excellence, innovation and creativity, safety, and giving back, truly stem from creating both a better customer service experience, but also a better internal employee experience, as well.
One employee comment gave nod to this by saying, “King goes out of its way to make sure their customers are taken care of without losing themselves in a negative way.” Another stated, “The ethics start at the top and everybody buys in. It’s GREAT!”
Additionally, employees feel the company is moving in the right direction, and they have confidence in the leader of King Solutions. A survey comment stated, “King strives to make each employee feel that their thoughts, opinions and contributions are not only valued, but encouraged and welcomed by senior staff.”
For pay and benefits, King Solutions ranked higher than the survey’s benchmark companies, which could be attributed to the extensive benefits employees receive. These include medical, dental, 401K, flex spending account, health savings account, voluntary benefits, life insurance, vision insurance, long and short term disability, and birthday PTO.
What this means to King Solutions
Our company approached this survey as an opportunity to learn from the people that know best what we can focus on as an organization to enhance their experience and become even stronger. This is an exciting time for King and the award means a lot to all of us. We will continue to strive to be a top workplace and concentrate on the areas identified as opportunities.
